I am Clare Packer. I am the Leader of GCSE Psychology at Tanbridge House School. We have a large cohort of students and Psychology is an increasingly popular subject. This is generally a students’ first experience of the subject, and their knowledge must be built sequentially and at an appropriate level so that students can progress and enjoy the subject.

I also run a successful and popular Psychology subject scholars programme for years 8 and 9 where students have access to an experience broader than the Psychology curriculum to enrich and deepen their enjoyment of the subject. I am an experienced teacher and I have been a mentor to Psychology PGCE students for several years. Together with my expert colleagues in the school my role is to support trainee teachers on their journey into the profession. I aim to give them a broad experience of teaching as well as specific subject based training whilst encouraging them to be reflective practitioners.
