In-person school experience days:

These days are an exciting opportunity to see a typical day in the life of a school. You will be able to observe subject-specific lessons, talk to pupils and speak to staff.

The school’s Professional Tutor will be available during this day to discuss your options and answer any questions you might have. Please sign up below and we will be in touch with details of the day.

Volunteering for after-school or summer holiday youth groups is also an excellent way of gaining experience of working with children. Please contact your local school or LEA for more details.

Many of our trainees have also worked in a Learning Support or Cover Supervisor role in order to gain invaluable school experience prior to applying for our Initial Teacher Training programme. Most job vacancies can be found on Hampshire County Council’s Hantsweb site or here for the Isle of Wight.
