School Experience Days
Visiting a school and observing classroom life first hand offers valuable insight into how children learn and what modern education looks like. Gaining experience in a classroom setting can help you determine whether teaching is the right path for you—and it may also enhance your application.
The Get Into Teaching website has a wealth of useful information, including arranging visits to schools and has more details about entry requirements and funding for your training
In-person school experience days:
These days are an exciting opportunity to see a typical day in the life of a school. You will be able to observe subject-specific lessons, talk to pupils and speak to staff.
The school’s Professional Tutor will be available during this day to discuss your options and answer any questions you might have. Please sign up below and we will be in touch with details of the day.

Many of our trainees have also worked in a Learning Support or Cover Supervisor role in order to gain invaluable school experience prior to applying for our Initial Teacher Training programme. Most job vacancies can be found on Hampshire County Council’s Hantsweb site or here for the Isle of Wight.
